About Annie & The Curatory
As a trusted resource for all things home, founder Annie understands that there are an overwhelming number of decorating options to choose from and she wants to make it easier for you. She attributes her natural eye for industry trends and the ability to furnish a space to the large Thanksgiving gatherings her mother would host while Annie was growing up. Her mother would pair heirloom china with a beautifully designed tablescape featuring hand-written place cards, layers of linen, polished silver and leafy centerpieces all illuminated by ambient candlelight in varying vessels and heights. These memories are ingrained in Annie, creating part of her story. Simply put, The Curatory is a passion project brought to life and Annie’s goal is to help clients put together or ‘curate’ their home to help tell their own story.
Annie’s decorating philosophy is rooted in a deep level of thoughtful service; she believes that every great space has a tailored mix of old and new to help create a personality. Whether building out an entire room or seeking one statement piece, her eye spans periods, styles and product types to offer something for every look. Having spent eight years as a home furnishings buyer and merchandiser in NYC, Annie has cultivated an expansive network and established relationships with contemporary vendors and vintage/antique dealers alike that lends itself to a uniquely tailored experience from start to finish.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020, the world as we know it reshaped urban living and many of Annie's friends moved on to first-time homeownership in the suburbs for more space. Her friends who chose to remain in their city apartments began working from home (and in most cases in close quarters) and the urgency to re-outfit their space with a home office quickly became a theme. Annie looked at that moment in time as an opportunity to help her friends and loved ones while immersing herself into her passion for interior decorating and product sourcing. Lemons into lemonade!
